Everywhere a church

This is the time of year when we in ECC publish the statistics from the previous year. Once again, they "numbers" are greater than ever, even with fewer paid people. This is due to the "number" of people that are working with our paid workers. We call them bi-vocational ministers. In 2009 in the world of ECC, the Lord raised up 3,548 churches.
It is wonderful to see how a group of new believers serves each other and their communities. It is also great to see how different mission groups work together in various countries. The photo is from India from after the tsumani.
Along the 40 miles of southern Indian coast, almost 50 churches with 50 new believers was started after the tsunami. The Evangelical Church of India (ECI) was a great instrument for a number of mission agencies. We in ECC supported evangelistic workers who also distributed aid, food, clothing, shelter, boats and motors.
In each of the new churches, an after school feeding and tutoring program was started by another mission, VisionTrust. This has been a great combination of ministries.
